The Jude Preamps are the result of an official collaboration between Sound Techniques and Warm Audio, and bring back the legendary sound of the original A-Range preamp circuit. This circuit was used in the first bespoke mixing desks at the famous Trident Studios in London and shaped the sound of countless music productions.
Developed by Geoff Frost and built to the original circuit diagrams of the Sound Techniques console preamp, the Jude Preamp reproduces the complete signal path of the historic original. This includes the discretely built 3035 Class A amplifier, the original Z-Match impedance-matching circuit, meticulous hand-wiring, and CineMag transformers manufactured specifically to the original specifications.
The original console design played a pivotal role in legendary recordings by artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John and Queen. With the Jude Preamp, this authentic Sound Techniques circuit makes its way into the modern studio, delivering the characteristic sound that defined an entire era of music production.
Two models of the preamp will be available: the single-channel desktop version and a two-channel version in a 19-inch rack enclosure.
